"Lighting is very beautiful!" This was what my client greeted me with yesterday during the blessing of an appliance store that just opened -one of many that we designed for them. It tickles my fancy hearing words of appreciation like such. I salute my team that puts extra effort in doing design work. Extra because we sometimes do work outside our scope if only to make each project better in every aspect.

Each of the projects we do is always a collab with other designers like architects, IDs, engineers and mothers-in-law. What they design, we light up: they design garbage, we make that garbage appear good when lit up; they design a monument, we make that monument look different when seen with artificial lighting as opposed to when seen under the sun. We create drama, we tell stories, we dance with the music, too. We use shadows without appearing shadowy.

If you think lighting design is just a flick of a switch, you’re in total darkness. I hope this has delighted you.

Cheers! #MyCafeNotes
